I'd like to define 2 logical interfaces (each with dedicated IP) at one reth interface.
The reason isn't functionality, but monitoring related. I use SNMP to obtain the traffic stats, but the stats are available only per-interface. That isn't enough as I'd like to monitor the traffic in more detail.
I've got this interesting traffic already "split" via secondary IP address (so monitoring per actual IP would be sufficient), but both IP addresses (the main and the secondary) are effectively assigned to the same physical interface as they all go via the same physical connection.
Defining multiple logical interfaces under one physical seems to be possible only with VLAN configurations, however in this case I've got no use for VLANs - the interface is the public one so there's no use for VLAN tagging.
Is there any way to configure multiple logical interfaces per physical where the traffic would be split by the IP address assigned to each logical interface?
