Hello,
When you say that you see the static routes to be still present even if the st0.x interface is down, do you see that status in the show interfaces terse output or you saying that just becasue that VPN tunnel is down.
Also please share one such example where you see the static routes for the st0.x interface even when the interface is down.
Also please check if the remote peer for the VPN is also SRX or some other vendor device. If it is SRX then we can try and use VPn monitroing for the VPN tunnel becasue it will bring down the st0.xinterface manually as soon as the VPN tunnel goes down and hence should then also remove the static routes for that st0.x interface.
